This small painting was inspired by a simple memory from my childhood. When I was in elementary school, my mom and I would sometimes walk to a little donut shop before school. We didn’t go all the time—only once in a while—which made it feel extra special.
The donuts always came in a brown paper bag, warm and sweet. I almost always chose the pink sprinkle donut.
This painting is my way of holding onto that memory. The soft pink tones and glossy finish are meant to capture that warm, joyful feeling of small moments that stay with you long after they’ve passed.
This piece is painted with acrylic paint on a panel canvas and finished with a glossy varnish to bring out the color and light.
